Kinzua Gorge Overlook Bridge Repairs

Advantage Steel & Construction was contracted by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to perform steel repairs at the Kinzua Gorge Overlook Bridge in McKean County, PA. The bridge is a popular tourist attraction during the autumn months, and the schedule required construction to stop during the peak of the season.

The scope of work includes installing a new deck and railing, repairing girders and columns, and painting. In addition to schedule constraints, challenges included access for tower repairs and risks from high winds. Spider baskets were used to reach portions of the tower that were otherwise inaccessible. The Project is currently scheduled for completion in 2027.
